LincPass: Must have compatible smartcard reader and (Windows) ActivClient or (Mac) Centrify Express installed.

Prerequisites:

1. Must complete a VPN account request form: http://usda.wisc.edu/software/vpn/ARS_Employee_VPN_Request_Form.pdf
2. Must have a supported operating system (see above).
3. Operating system updates must be current.
4. Must have an antivirus program installed, with up-to-date virus definitions. If you don't have an updated antivirus client, please contact us.
5. A full antivirus scan must have been performed within 30 days of trying to connect (During our testing we discovered that it is best to run a full scan prior to the installation).
6. Must have an active firewall application installed.

Step 1: Insert your LincPass card into the smartcard reader on your computer.

Step 2: Open the Pulse Secure VPN client already installed on your computer.

Step 3: Click the + button to create a new profile.

Step 4: Fill in the required information exactly as it appears below and click Add. The server URL will need to be obtained from Pulse Secure VPN upgrade email. If you cannot find URL, please contact us.

Step 5: Click 'connect' button on the 'Email_Only' connection profile.

Step 6: When prompted for security certificate, select the option to 'save settings' and click 'connect'

Step 7: When prompted with warning notification, click 'Proceed' to agree.

Step 8: When prompted for a realm, select 'Outlook_LincPass' and select 'save settings' and 'connect.'

Step 9: When prompted for a certificate, select your authentication/PIV certificate and select 'save settings' and 'connect.'

Step 10: Login with your LincPass pin.

Step 11: If you are prompted for a software upgrade, select 'Upgrade'

Step 12: Software download and installation will complete automatically. You have now upgraded your Pulse Secure VPN client and can login to VPN using 'Email_Only' profile.
