The desktop builds are most useful when installing Kodu off-line. For instance, you can put the installer on a USB drive and install it on multiple PCs. You do not need to download both files. Regular users should download and install the KoduSetup.EXE file. The KoduSetup.MSI file is for system administrators installing Kodu via SCCM.

Both the Microsoft Store build and the Desktop builds store the user’s levels in the same location so you can freely switch between them without losing any work.
Legacy Versions
The Kodu Game Lab was set up by Microsoft, and it is still being tweaked and having all the bugs and issues ironed out, so some users may experience glitches or hiccups. These should be reported back so as to allow a fix to be designed and implemented. Kodu Game Lab is not available for Android but there are a few alternatives with similar functionality. The most popular Android alternative is GDevelop, which is both free and Open Source. If that doesn't work for you, our users have ranked 22 alternatives to Kodu Game Lab, but unfortunately only two of them are available for Android.
